Who is responsible

Richard Harrison is the person responsible for personal information collected through this website (the data controller). For privacy questions or requests, email [email protected].

Information collected

When you contact Richard, he receives your name, email address, optional company name and message, together with any information you send in later correspondence. Name, email and message are required to use the form. Providing information is voluntary, but without contact details Richard may be unable to reply.

Hosting and form providers may also process technical information such as IP address, browser details, request times and security logs to deliver and protect their services. Please do not send payment card details, health information or other sensitive information through the form.

How and why information is used

Richard uses enquiries to respond, discuss potential work and keep relevant correspondence. His legitimate interest is managing professional enquiries and business relationships. Where you contact him about entering a contract with you personally, processing needed to take those steps is based on that request. Technical information is used for the legitimate interest of operating a reliable, secure website and preventing misuse.

Submitting an enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing. Richard does not sell enquiry information or use it to make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.

Service providers and international processing

Cloudflare provides website hosting and security. Formspree processes form submissions and forwards them to Richard. Google Workspace provides his email service. Authorised technical support may access information where needed to maintain these services. Information may also be disclosed where required by law.

These providers may process information outside the UK, including in the United States. Their data protection terms explain the safeguards for international transfers: Formspree describes its use of Standard Contractual Clauses, while Cloudflare and Google publish data processing terms covering international transfers. You can consult the documents below or contact Richard for more information about the arrangements relevant to your enquiry.

How long information is kept

Enquiries that do not become client work are kept for up to 12 months after the last contact, and deleted sooner when no longer needed. Correspondence connected to client work is kept for as long as necessary to manage the engagement and meet applicable legal obligations or resolve disputes.

The current Formspree free plan keeps its submission archive for 30 days. This is separate from the copies delivered to Richard's email, which follow the retention policy above. Technical logs and backup copies follow the relevant provider's retention and security arrangements.

Cookies and external links

This website does not include advertising trackers or analytics tools. Its fonts, photographs and video are hosted with the site. Security services may use strictly necessary technologies to protect access. LinkedIn and Instagram are links, not embedded feeds.

Submitting the form takes you to Formspree, which may perform security checks and display its confirmation page. External websites have their own privacy and cookie practices.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can request access to your information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing or a portable copy. These rights are subject to the conditions and exceptions in data protection law.

You can object to processing based on legitimate interests, including the handling of enquiries, on grounds relating to your particular situation.

Send requests to [email protected]. Richard may need to confirm your identity before responding. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Updates

This notice will be updated if the website or its handling of personal information changes. The date above identifies the latest version.
